Welcome to the Islam Awareness Week website!

Islam Awareness Week 2010 will be taking place in the first week of November. Please visit this site again soon for more details.

Islam Awareness Week (IAW) has been taking place across the UK in the third week of November for the last 15 years. Initially the aim was simply to provide a platform for British Muslims themselves to help remove misconceptions about Islam, which is now the UK’s second largest faith.

Since then, it has also become an opportunity for people of all faiths (and none) to come together in a spirit of understanding and co-operation. IAW is also about helping to build links between people, a celebration of art and culture and getting people to work together for the common good.

Islam Awareness Week 2010

IAW in 2010 will be taking place in the first week of November. It is taking place between two other weeks with which there is much common ground, namely:

One World Week - from 17th to 24th October 2010, www.oneworldweek.org

and

Inter Faith Week - from 21st to 27th November 2010, www.interfaithweek.org

Please visit this website again soon for more details about IAW this year.

Would you like to get involved?

During the week a range of activities take place in towns and cities across the country. They may include exhibitions, social events, or voluntary activities for charity. Everyone is invited to attend or take part. It is hoped that those who take part will be able to use these opportunities to develop friendships and relationships with people from other backgrounds.
