2009 Walk the Talk Tour

Dawud&Idris

 Dawud Wharnsby

dawud_wharnsby.jpgA Canadian singer, songwriter and musician. In 2003, he recorded the popular album, Prophet’s Hands, featuring producer and peace activist Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens). In recent years Dawud has been seen regularly on tour in Canada and the United Kingdom. Wharnsby heads the independent music label Enter Into Peace and as a respected musical performer and social activist, he travels extensively throughout the world to perform and to lecture at schools and universities with his inspirational talks.

Idris Phillips

idris_phillips.jpgA talented guitarist, pianist, writer and producer, Idris Phillips began playing classical guitar before the age of 10. These days he resides in Los Angeles where he records for film and television. The compositions of Idris Phillips are mosaics - colours of sound placed together with care, craft and attention to detail. His use of Asian and Middle Eastern rhythms set against jazz, folk, and R&B arrangements, ensures his material holds a universal appeal. Inspiration for Idris’ work come from life experiences on the road, relationships, and more recently from his study of Islamic spirituality.

In 2006 Dawud & Idris began touring regularly as a duo. They completed their first album together entitled 'Out Seeing The Fields' in 2007 - with more collaborative and solo work already in production.
