Letters of support and appreciation

2006: On the 22nd of November 2006, ISB Manchester held a dinner at Al Zara restaurant in Cheetham Hill and invited over 200 people from the local community of Manchester. The event aimed to build bridges with the community and knock down illusionary barriers. Depsite the freezing weather, people of all ages and backgrounds came to enjoy the great dinner and the brilliant speech by Birmingham's Chris Allen. Here are some of the comments we've had and pictures as well:

Dear Sarah & Amar,
I would like to express my appreciation of the dinner on Wednesday. I enjoyed my conversations with my neighbours and the food and found the speeches helpful and in formative. Thank you very much for organising it.

With all good wishes,

Dear Sarah and Amar

Thank you so much for the invitation to the IAW dinner last night, both my husband and I had a most enjoyable and interesting evening. It was a pleasure to meet so many people with so much in common.
I, for one, could have carried on talking - (and listening!) - for quite a bit longer, and I hope there will be more opportunities to network with friends and colleagues in the future.

Thanks again
Christine, Stockport Council

Dear Sarah and Amar,
Thank you very much for a most interesting evening on Wednesday.  the talks and discussions were interesting and thought provoking, the company was an excellent mix of people from all walks of life and the food was delicious. I think this sort of occasion is an excellent medium to develop communication and understanding.  Well done.

Kind Regards

2007: Organization of Islamic Conference

Assalamu Alaikum.
I write in reference to your important initiative, Islam Awareness Week (IAW), that ends by today. I would like to take this opportunity to commend you for your endeavors in organizing the event which is being held at a time when the international community needs to address effectively and with urgency the need of dialogue and initiatives conducive to create a space where Muslims would be able to express their talents and skills as a mean for a complete integration in the West.

The OIC also believes that a historical reconciliation towards the alliance of civilizations has, among many initiatives, to be based on a comprehensive, intelligible, and reciprocal dialogue. The OIC notes, with satisfaction, that the IAW was developed with projects in that direction, and it has to be signaled as an important step for the ideal of a sincere dialogue among civilizations that OIC shares with all Muslim communities wishing to do so, such as yours.

We would appreciate receiving from you a report on the outcomes of the IAW.

Sincerely,

Abdula Manafi Mutualo
